  • Outlined corporate structure of MKI in relation to PGS.
2 Update on MKI proposed activity and timing MKI (PGS)
  • A letter was sent to Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) in July informing them that project was postponed until 2012 season because more time was required for community engagement.
3 Application Process Update Chair
  • NEB staff explained section 15 member process and the role of the section 15 member
  • NEB staff explained EA process. NEB staff emphasized importance of responding to information requests.
  • NEB staff discussed public consultations for the EA and possible timing. Community engagements for the Environmental Screening Report are planned for Iqaluit, Pond Inlet and Clyde River.
  • NEB staff indicated that guidance on community consultations can be found in chapter 3 of the NEB Act Filing Manual.
  • NEB staff confirmed that the EA is a public process and any information relied on in the EA needs to be made public.
4 Next Steps Chair
  • NEB staff noted that MKI should keep the NEB up to date on recent items.
