The CER issues certificate for Westcoast Energy GP Inc. on behalf of Westcoast Energy Limited Partnership’s (Westcoast) – Sunrise Expansion Program

We have issued a certificate for the Westcoast Sunrise Expansion Program. This authorizes the company to construct and operate the project once it has satisfied all applicable conditions.

The Commission completed its review in 437 days, within the 450-day time limit, demonstrating the CER’s dedication to timely project reviews and meeting legislated timelines. After GIC consideration of the Project, the certificate was issued in 5 days, meeting the CER Act’s 7-day requirement.

We are committed to monitoring company activities to ensure the safety of people and the protection of the environment and property. We will work with impacted communities to protect landowner rights and interests, and work with Indigenous communities to uphold the rights and interests of Indigenous peoples, their land, traditions, and culture throughout the project’s lifecycle.
