Dear Ms. Smith:

TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA, Petroleum GeoServices and MultiKlient Invest (TGS/PGS/MKI) NorthEastern Canada 2D Seismic Exploration Survey Project (the Project) Application of 16 April 2010 – Potential Effect on Species Listed Under the Species at Risk Act (SARA)

The National Energy Board (the Board or NEB) hereby advises the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans that the above-noted Project, if approved and undertaken, may affect Bowhead whale (Eastern Arctic population) listed on Schedule 2 of the SARA.

On 16 April 2010, TGS/PGS/MKI applied to the NEB to conduct a two dimensional marine seismic program in the Baffin Bay and Davis Strait area. Please note the NEB previously notified Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) about this proposed Project in its Federal Coordination letter dated 26 January 2011, and has received a letter of comment from DFO on 10 June 2011. More information on the Project can be found on the Board's website. Should DFO have specific advice related to the above matter, comments must be received by the Board by 17 June 2013 via email at ExproEA@cer-rec.gc.ca.

Further enquiries can be directed to Christy Wickenheiser at 403-299-3869 or toll free at 1-800-899-1265.

Yours truly,

Sheri Young
Secretary of the Board
