Consultations on draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements and draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines

The National Energy Board (NEB), the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) have jointly developed draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements and draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines.

These guidelines were developed as a result of the Energy Safety and Security Act, equivalent provincial legislation in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, and associated regulations. New legislative provisions and regulations are expected to come into force on 26 February 2016.

The three Boards are currently seeking comments on the draft Guidelines Respecting Financial Requirements and draft Administrative Monetary Penalty Guidelines, posted on each Board’s website (www.neb-one.gc.ca, www.cnlopb.ca/, and www.cnsopb.ns.ca/). Comments may be submitted to the address below or emailed to consultation@cnsopb.ns.ca until 8 January 2016. Upon receipt, all submissions will be shared between the three Boards.

Update: comments on the draft Administrative Monetary Penalties Guidelines will be accepted until 28 January 2016.
