NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. – Parallel Creek Sales Meter Station Project

Project Background

The CER received a Project application from NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) on 6 March 2024 for the Parallel Creek Sales Meter Station (the Project). The Project will be located entirely on Crown land in NE-6-76-15 W4M, approximately 110 kilometers northeast of Athabasca, Alberta. The Project will require the acquisition of approximately 1.45 hectares (ha) of new land, which will include a new permanent access road. Approximately 0.84 ha of temporary workspace is anticipated to be required for the construction of the Project.

The Project will consist of the installation of a new meter station, which includes a meter run, associated buildings, and piping. The Project is located adjacent to existing oil and gas infrastructure and in proximity to Alberta Provincial Highway 63. Of the 1.45 ha of new land required for the Project, approximately 0.47 ha is on existing disturbed Crown land, and 0.98 ha will require new cut. Project construction is planned to commence in September 2024, with an expected Project in-service date in January 2025.
