2025-26 Time Limits

Under the CER Act, the Lead Commissioner must set a time limit for certain types of applications. The time limit must not exceed the maximum number of days stated in the CER Act. The Commission must complete its assessment and make its recommendation or decision within this time limit. The standard time limits set by the Lead Commissioner can be found on the CER website.

The following table shows applications which were subject to time limits for processing under the CER Act. In the 2025-26 fiscal year, 16 non-hearing applications, 2 hearing applications, and 2 export licences were issued within time limits set under the CER Act. Please note that the average completion timeline for the three section 214 categories is as follows:

  • Category A – 62 days
  • Category B – 108 days
  • Category C – 179 days

The overall average was 98 days.
