Project Information
Nova Gas Transmission Ltd (NGTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of TransCanada Pipelines, filed an application seeking approval to decommission a 266 km section of the (NPS 20) Peace River Mainline (PRML) pipeline between NGTL’s Meikle River Compressor Station and Valleyview Compressor Station, associated facilities [Filing A45646], and a 2.34 km (NPS 4) Watino Lateral in Sections 13 and 14, TWP 77-RGE 25 W5M.
In its application, NGTL proposes to permanently remove the pipeline section and associated facilities from service. NGTL indicated customers that were receiving service would continue to receive service through interconnections to other pipelines on the Alberta System.
The Board has decided to hold a public hearing, after which the Board will decide whether to grant leave to abandon operation of the Pipeline and associated facilities, and the conditions under which any such leave may be granted.

The Board will announce the timing and process for the hearing shortly.
Process Advisor - Support to Hearing Participants
The NEB has assigned a Process Advisor for this project. The Process Advisor’s role is to support the public (e.g., landowners, concerned citizens, environmental non-governmental organizations) and the Aboriginal groups that are participating in public hearings.
