The Board administers a Participant Funding Program (PFP), which provides financial assistance to individuals, Indigenous groups, landowners, and non-industry not-for-profit groups to facilitate public participation in certain project hearings and environmental assessments of designated projects.
The funding opportunity for the Line 21 Segment Replacement Project was announced on 16 March 2017 with a funding envelope of $100,000. The PFP received four applications requesting a total of $210,196. After reviewing the applications, the PFP recommended awarding to all four. The Executive Vice President, Regulatory approved the recommendation and the total funding allocated to the hearing was increased to $210,196.
