Safety and Information Advisories

We release advisories to let industry know important information about concerns we have identified. Advisories are developed from following up on incidents and examining emerging issues.

We expect companies to take steps to address the concerns noted in advisories to protect people and the environment. The advisories collected below are information and safety advisories that we have previously issued. The CER has also issued one security advisory about a requirement to classify and secure information that is now covered in Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z246.1.

Building dialogue together about safety

The CER often receives questions from industry about information and safety advisories. To help answer these questions, we have created an online space where you can post questions about an advisory.
