Dear Mr. Jarvis:
- Closure of Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (Enbridge), Corrective Action Plan (CAP) developed in response to the 2017 Enbridge Pipelines Inc. – Pre-construction readiness audit.
The National Energy Board (NEB or Board) completed an audit of Enbridge to verify Enbridge Pipelines Inc. had established the necessary oversight measures to manage construction-related safety and environmental protection considerations and subsequently released its final audit report on 19 October 2017. Enbridge provided a CAP on 2 November 2017 to address finding and all of the corrective actions. The Board approved Enbridge’s CAP on 22 November 2017.
The Board verified that the corrective actions have been implemented in accordance with the approved CAP through document review and a field inspection with your staff. Over the 2017-2018 CAP review period, Enbridge demonstrated that it has addressed the non‑compliances outlined in the audit findings.
With the issuance of this letter, the Board considers the audit and CAP of Enbridge to be closed. The Board reminds Enbridge that once CAPs are closed, they are considered to be implemented and Enbridge is accountable to maintain compliance. The NEB will verify ongoing compliance through future compliance verification activities.
If you require any further information or clarification, please contact Barbara Wegernoski, Lead Auditor, at 403-299-3151.
