NEB issues Hearing Order for Line 5 St. Clair River Replacement Project

The National Energy Board (NEB) has issued a Hearing Order [Filing A97726] for the Line 5 St. Clair River Replacement Project, which will outline the Hearing procedure and provide important dates.

The NEB will hold a streamlined hearing process that includes oral traditional evidence to be held in Sarnia.

Affected parties can apply to participate from now until February 14, 2019. Participants can also receive up to $40,000 to participate in the hearing.

On 20 July 2018, Enbridge filed an application with the National Energy Board (NEB) to decommission part of the existing Line 5 and install approximately 0.5 km of new pipe in Sarnia, ON. This application was filed under Section 58 of the NEB Act and section 45.1 of the NEB Onshore Pipeline Regulations (OPR).
