Departmental Results Framework: Measuring the Performance of the NEB

28 December 2016

The National Energy Board (NEB) is pleased to share with Canadians our organization’s Departmental Results Framework (DRF); a major milestone within our responsibilities under the updated Government of Canada’s Policy on Results and - just as importantly - for our internal transformation initiative.

The DRF is organized into five Core Responsibilities clearly identifying our mandate and responsibilities as a regulator (including the internal services that play an important role in supporting the delivery of the other core responsibilities). Each core responsibility is in turn supported by programs that outline, in detail, the activities required under each responsibility and the results that we aim to achieve.

The NEB engaged stakeholders across Canada to seek feedback on our Framework and its indicators. We would like to thank these groups and individuals for being generous with their time, advice and insights.

The National Energy Board is an independent federal regulator of several parts of Canada's energy industry with the safety of Canadians and protection of the environment as its top priority. Its purpose is to regulate pipelines, energy development and trade in the Canadian public interest. For more information on the NEB and its mandate, please visit www.neb-one.gc.ca.
